Duet is an online philanthropic platform that enables donors to provide meaningful aid to vulnerable families in a more dignified, efficient, and personal way. Families request the exact items they need to rebuild their lives, and donors pay for those items on their behalf. We currently provide support to refugee families in Greece, and are actively expanding for COVID-19 relief in LA. As of early 2021, Duet is a 501(c)-3 registered charity!
We are a group of over 20 recent graduates and students, largely from USC and other California colleges. We have been operating since March 2019. Since then, we have facilitated over $70,000 in donations and built a donor community of over 500 members.
Duet has been featured in Viterbi News and Marshall News.
Duet is seeking a vibrant, self-motivated, and passionate operations intern to streamline our international and domestic operations.
You will be responsible for interfacing directly with on-the-ground operations in Lesvos and Athens, coordinating item pickups, speaking with local partners, keeping donors up-to-date, and onboarding families to the Duet platform. You will gain skill in SQL, Metabase, Excel, and Philanthropic Operations overall. We seek a highly-motivated individual who can step into the role with initiative, ownership, and organization and has a proven track record of detailed work and sustained effort.
You will play an essential role within Duet and will play a central role in creating seamless operations for an agile nonprofit organization that is serious about using technology for social good.
The expected time commitment is 6-8 hours per week. There is flexibility in setting hours, with the exception of bi-weekly all-team events (an all-hands meeting and a game night) and 1-2 regular meetings with the COO.
You will thrive in this position if you…
Duet offers an opportunity to improve real lives, solve hard problems, and to make the world a smaller, friendlier place. You will spearhead the design of major brand assets while being a part of a supportive and engaged team of fellow changemakers who are determined to grow this into a sustainable long-term venture. (We are planning to start fundraising in earnest over the coming months, or as soon as we have our 501(c)(3) certification).
Assuming all goes well, there is also the possibility of extending this internship into a permanent position past Summer 2021. Join us in rebuilding lives, together.
